BMW
325i Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly
I
am sorry I didn't take more pictures of how to change the wheel bearing and hub
assembly.
I
will describe what I can. They are not too hard to replace.
This
was the result of my dead bearing. |
The
inner ring pulled out with my fingers. |
You
can see it is lifted. This wheel bearing was off the drivers side. |
Here
is the new wheel bearing/hub assembly on the car. They are easy to
replace. All you need to do pull all the brakes. That consists of pulling
the calipers like you would a brake pad change. Once it is off you can
pull the brake rotors. The hardest part of the wheel bearing change is the
center nut. It is on with over 100 ft/lbs. I had to use a pretty long
breaker bar to get it off. |
I
bought two new grease/dust caps, along with two new nuts. After you have
torqued the nuts back on, you need to dimple in the lock tabs. |
Here
are the two old wheel bearing/hubs, grease caps and nuts. |
Here
is another angle of the old bearings. |
Here
is the passenger side completed. |
